Rotating Mountain Range Ausland (Berlin, Germany) 2013
This piece was made for performing a scenography.
A dancer was performing below the circle of the piece while the piece was being rotated manually.
First, I made an irregular surface with Japanese paper to represent mountain undulations. And then, I inserted inside some Japanese paper straw strings of many different colors to express the landscape transformations.
Through these pieces of artwork, I wanted to represent the idea of some human being willing to flee away from a world which is rotating very quickly around a mountain.
